My first professional check

Today I got my first paycheck as a professional golfer! I got paid for a 4th place finish at the Cactus Tour’s tournament at Morongo at Tukwet Canyon after 54 holes. It wasn’t the finish I was hoping for, but I am excited to earn money for the first time in my professional career!
You can see the final results here.

My first two rounds were under par and I was in the final group for Round 3 starting the day tied for second place. We had a 45 minute delay due to weather. Beaumont is 2,500 above sea level and it was pretty cold all week, although we avoided the snow they had last week. I played well the first two days, but only hit 9/18 greens in regulation today, so I was scrambling. I did have an eagle on number 10 after hitting my hybrid to 2 and 1/2 feet. I finished the tournament at even, shooting 71, 70, 75.
I was able to stay with Ken and Joan Forster in Palm Springs, which was about a 40 minute drive. Their gracious hospitality saved me a lot of money and I got the added benefit of debriefing my rounds with Ken every day. I am so grateful for their generosity!
My next tournament is still up in the air. (See my last post about my tournament schedule update.) I may or may not be playing at Morongo again March 24 – 26 for the Epson Tour. I’m currently 16th on the wait list for this tournament and keeping my fingers crossed!
