From the clubhouse – update!

I’ve been all over the place for the last few months and there is more travel to come!

Most of the off season has been preparing for my 2024 season on the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour. This tour plays a lot of its tournaments in the southeast, so I’ll be spending time in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi with a couple of side trips to Colorado, Kansas and Illinois. I’m lucky enough to play at some fabulous courses in San Diego, including Aviara, Palacio Del Mar, The Bridges and Goat Hill Park. I’ve also traveled to play a few courses in Los Angeles and Palm Springs.

In addition to practice, I was able to do some non-golf travel, see my family and friends and celebrate some exciting news.

In January, my roommate and I visited New York over a long weekend.

We stayed with a good friend of mine from high school, Leo Kanaskie and met up with some other friends who live in Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York. At one point there were seven people from Salem, Oregon in a bar in Manhattan!

The BIGGEST news!

In January, my brother got engaged to his girlfriend Sarah Jones while they were on a ski trip in France. They FaceTimed me while I was on the course to share the news! I am so excited for them. They are also getting a puppy soon, so I can’t wait for that.

Adventures in snow

Oregon still didn’t have any snow while I was home for Christmas, so I was dying to find some. In February, I drove to Lake Tahoe for a snowshoeing adventure with Kyle Martz. Kyle and I have known each other since we were in the infant/toddler room at First Presbyterian Church. He lives in Tahoe now and works for a company that makes documentaries. It was a much longer drive than I realized but fortunately my friend Seela came along. It was so beautiful there (I even got to jump in the lake for a quick polar plunge)!

At the end of February, I met my parents and brother in Belize. This was a family vacation we have been planning for more than a year and I was so excited to see Belize – and them of course : ). We had a wonderful time, spending five days in the cayes and four in the jungle. It was a great mixture of adventure, relaxation and delicious food.

Finally, in March, I traveled to Salem for a quick visit with my grandparents. Both sets of grandparents joined us for St. Patrick’s Day dinner. I was also able to play a couple rounds at Illahe and Salem Golf Club which is always a treat, and got a lesson from my swing coach.

The next six months will be a grind so it was great to get a chance to have some fun before I get back on the road for my second season as a professional golfer!
