Aloha from Oahu

I just landed on Oahu where I will be competing in the LPGA Monday Qualifier for the LOTTE Championship at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, HI. The competition takes place on Easter Sunday, April 9th. There are currently 16 participants signed up for the qualifier, and the top two places will advance into the LOTTE Championship starting on Wednesday, April 12th. In the majority of LPGA qualifiers, there are closer to the maximum 48 participants. Therefore, this tournament was a great opportunity for me to qualify my way into an LPGA event. This week I am fortunate enough to be staying with one of my dad’s best friends from Veterinary school. I am excited to reconnect with him and his family while I am visiting.

Hawaii has a special place in my heart because of previous golf adventures I have been able to take there. In college, the PAC 12 hosted a preview conference tournament on the Big Island every year at a course called Nanea Golf Club, which happens to be my favorite golf course to this day. Oregon State also took me to Kapalua Golf Club for a tournament on Maui as well. I have been on a few other trips to the Islands for family vacations filled with snorkeling, hiking, boogie boarding and lots of shave ice. Two of my favorite things in the world come together when I am in Hawaii… golf and the ocean so I cannot wait to play an amazing golf course and explore Oahu.
